Steve Jobs was Adopted

In the wake of Steve Jobs’ death, many news outlets have been publishing stories about his Commencement address to Stanford University in 2005. Most of the stories have focused on the commendable resolve he showed when he faced death. Many outlets have run excepted versions of the speech. Here is a link to the entire transcript: http://news.stanford.edu/news/2005/june15/jobs-061505.html.
Unfortunately, some of these stories and excerpts leave out the part of the speech in which Jobs talks about how his natural mother was an unmarried young woman who decided to put him up for adoption. How poorer the world would have been had she chosen to abort her unborn child.
Jobs was conceived at a time (the mid 1950s) when abortions were far less common. One can only speculate about his mother’s decision if she had become pregnant post-Roe v Wade, which was in 1973.
